Square and Town Hall
Located in the low plains of Emilia, the city of Ferrara
is on the banks of the Po di Volano , which separates the city from the ancient
of San Giorgio and marks
the border with the new contemporary settlements south of the walls. Ferrara
enjoys a golden age in the Middle Ages and in the Renaissance under the rule of
the Este family, who transformed the city
into an Italian and European artistic centre of great importance .
